At the Roblox 2012 conference on Saturday at the Santa Clara Convention Center, hundreds of budding game designers rubbed real shoulders with their virtual friends and idols. They outdid each and every other in a hackathon, provided critiques of Roblox video games and snagged autographs from their older, much more seasoned heroes — the 16- to 19- year-old veteran game designers. If Mom or Dad wasn’t hovering, they sat nearby the regular age of the convention-goers appeared to be at most twelve.
